I love my job. With it, I get to express my passions and grow my talent. I love my company. I have the best boss and co-workers that anyone can ask for. Be this as it may, I sometimes find myself in the middle of the busy work week, sitting in my cubicle wondering if there will be an end to all the work piled up on my desk. It is during these days that I realize that everyone needs a break from the mundane.
One of the most important lessons I’ve learned is that time for yourself is important. People often think (and judge) that going on a break is a waste of time. On the contrary, the time you take to recharge, replenish your stores and to just breathe and reassess, is time unwasted. It is this time that completes you, that nourishes you and lets you appreciate the mundane. It is this time that makes you realize that both this special time and the mundane makes up real life, that real life encompasses both and should be lived to the fullest.
